~Winx Dolls Introduction! For New and Old Fans!~

Hello Fairies and Specialists!

My name is Clare. I’m going to take you on the magical journey of The Winx Club Dolls!!!

Just a small touch of background information before we get to the dolls.
There are 4 companies whom have made Winx Club Dolls in the past. Those companies are Giochi Preziosi, Mattel, Witty Toys, and Jakks Pacific! There is also a 5th company coming in. Playmates! More about that in a while.

What I love about the dolls is, there are so many faces and options to choose from. If you want to collect just fairies, just civilan outfits, just from one company because it’s what calls to you. Go for it! Or you can be like me and collect from all of the companies! These dolls are so unique and interesting. Let’s get into them!

Giochi Preziosi(2004-2008)

We will start with the ones that started it all Giochi Preziosi! Giochi was the first ones to take on this magical show! I was unfortunately not in Italy at the time. From what I’ve heard from other fans, these dolls were flying off the shelves. As soon as winx hit the market it was “lightning in a bottle” as Ella would say!

Giochi released over 400 dolls! At first there were dolls that measured around 13”. In 2007, they changed those dolls into smaller 10” dolls. I don’t know what the change was for, i personally like it as I prefer the smaller dolls. The doll above is Daphne, blooms sister. I really like how we got all 3 trix, Sky and Brandon.

I love all of these dolls we will be listing. There’s something about these dolls that scream, Elegance! I believe before the change, the dolls only came in cardboard boxes with a plastic window. The boxes are beautiful and show the doll in all her glory. Just perfection and love!

Mattel (2004-2009)

Mattel These are the dolls I grew up with. I am 1000% bias against these dolls. There’s around the range of 120-140 of these dolls.

As Americans, we got the first 2 seasons of dolls. There were a few winx fans that stated the Glam Magic dolls were available on Amazon(.)com. From there on out, the dolls were shipped overseas. Europe got a good majority of the dolls. With the last 2 lines(concert and picnic) being available in Russia.

If anyone knows why this happened, it has never been publicly stated. As an American, these dolls were there one minute. Gone the next. I thought they weren’t made anymore. Imagine my shock when 16 years old me is scrolling online. Seeing doll hunts and winx Mattel dolls are overseas. It was a massive slap in the face.

Even so, these dolls(to me) looked like they came out of the show. Perfect size at 10” high. I had so much fun playing with them as a 12 year old. I never considered myself a collector and never knew there was a word until later.

These dolls will always hold a special place in my heart. That’s why I started with ball gown flora. These dolls time are happier times. When life was carefree and no responsibilities.

The Mattel dolls are some of the most coveted within the community. As well as the most expensive. Most will be $200+ new in box. I’ve seen one go for $8,000 new in box. They are known for their high quality and details. A lot have come with many accessories. Most come with collector cards.

For me, this is winx. This is what I think of when I think of the dolls. It’s so interesting to see them against the other dolls.

Witty Toys (2009-2012)

These dolls have been the longest running dolls with a 15 year run. Witty Toys shut down late 2024. There are so many different variations of these winx dolls. Box changes, some unique boxes, some simple boxes , Italian exclusive dolls, Russian exclusive dolls, ect. They have gone through multiple face changes throughout the years.

In 2012, with the Harmonix line, some ere made with the old with face. Then they rolled out a HEAVILY Jakks Pacific inspired face. Can you copy-right against yourself?

Jakks Pacific(2012-2015)

Welcome the 2nd go around with America and Winx!
This is Jakks pacific. They gave us quite a few interesting dolls in their time. Including the first SDCC exclusive dolls. These dolls were Bloom in her believix form. They were Limited Edition of 210,510, and 1,010 respectively. The first two mentioned dolls were monochromatic in Gold and Silver. The last doll was blue and black. There’s an interesting history with these dolls in particular but we shall leave that for another time.

The first open release were the girls in there believix outfits. These dolls were not that well received. A lot of fans (especially Europeans) had a lot to say about the quality. As time went on Jakks Pacific took in the information and pivoted accordingly. The quality slowly got better. By the time Harmonix dolls came out(along with a few mini figures) all but Toys R Us bailed on this franchise. There speculation. What I believe happened was the over abundance of bloom believix that created an army because of how many there were.

After Toys R Us came into play and saved the winx dolls from extinction. A few more lines came out including an 2 pack set of bloom annd sky. Also for the first time, dolls of Darcy and Stormy! Along with Icy!  Jakks definitely did have fun with these dolls and weren’t afraid to push for what they wanted. Including, another monochromatic Believix doll set that featured all 6 girls. After that, Bloomix ended the run of winx dolls in America. We all thought for good!

Witty Toys(2012-2019,2020-2024)

As you can see, similarlies are uncanny. I do believe they did this to make the dolls more uniformed. At this time, most Jakks-witty hybrid dolls had the plug in the back and the wings flapped. With the Limited Edition dolls, the winx are hard plastic, no flap ability, the inside of the wings are lace. While other wings are all plastic. Made of a usual flimsy material.

Many dolls were released under this face and after the season 8 faces, they went back to these faces. You will find most dolls between season 5-7, along with a few other lines. Have these faces.

Witty Toys(2019-2020)

The years might be wrong with these faces. I know they didn’t last long.

Witty Toys did back track and released a version of  Tynix, Dreamix, ornyrix, cosmix, ect with these faces. The Winx 15th anniversary Bloom has this face.

This is definitely one of the most unique faces that exist in Winx. They give a anime vibe with the big eyes small lips. I personally love the cosmix and Glamour Magic dolls. They were very well made. I feel passionate was put into them. After the little bit of time these faces had, witty returned to the Jakks looking faces. Until their closure in 2024.

2024 announced the return of Winx Dolls in America!!! After months of guesses and wondering who it would be, PlayMates Toys was announced as the manufacturer for Winx dolls!

With this new company coming into the show along with the reboot, it will be a sight to see. Especially because there isn’t a comparison between the companies as much as they are doing something new. I know I and many fans are excited what Playmates can bring to the table. I will also be collecting them and trying to learn what I can about them. It’s so exciting to possibly see what happens.

I hope with this new spark and life brought into this franchise I love so much, we can keep dolls here for a while. It will be so weird but exciting to see winx dolls on shelves again.

Playmates! We as a fandom are excited to welcome you into the World Of Winx! I hope you are also excited about us!

Thank you everyone for reading! I had a lot of fun with this and I can’t wait to get into the details of all of these beautiful dolls and merchandise!

Believe In The Magic and Keep Collecting! 😘😘😘
